Vanessa Ray will meet a boy called Frank Mills in the Tony-winning revival of Hair at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre through January of 2010.

Allison Case, who originated the role of Crissy in the 2007 Central Park concert staging of Hair and continued with the production through its 2009 Broadway bow, is taking a temporary leave of absence from the hit revival.

Ray, who appeared in the national tour of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, is making her Broadway debut as Crissy. She will continue with Hair through January 2010, according to a press release.

The cast of Hair features Tony nominee Will Swenson as Berger, Tony nominee Gavin Creel as Claude, Sasha Allen as Dionne, Caissie Levy as Sheila, Kacie Sheik as Jeanie, Bryce Ryness as Woof, Darius Nichols as Hud, Rachel Bay Jones as Mother, Andrew Kober as Margaret Mead/Dad, as well as Ato Blankson-Wood, Krystal Joy Brown, Steel Burkhardt, Jackie Burns, Heath Calvert, Briana Carlson-Goodman, Matt DeAngelis, Lauren Elder, Allison Guinn, Chasten Harmon, Jay Armstrong Johnson, Kaitlin Kiyan, Josh Lamon, Nicole Lewis, John Moauro, Brandon Pearson, Paris Remillard, Megan Reinking, Michael James Scott, Hannah Shankman, Maya Sharpe, Ryan Watkinson and Tommar Wilson.

Tony-nominated director Diane Paulus helmed the revival that began life as a concert at Central Park's Delacorte Theater in 2007 and was later revived for a 2008 Shakespeare in the Park run. Hair has book and lyrics by the late Gerome Ragni and James Rado and music by Galt MacDermot. Hair opened to rave reviews on Broadway on March 31, 2009.
