Ghost Light Is Illuminated Off-Broadway Starting Oct. 14

Desi Moreno-Penson's dramatic thriller Ghost Light begins performances Off-Broadway at 59E59 Theaters Oct. 14.



José Zayas (The House of the Spirits, Babes in Toyland) directs the New York premiere that officially opens Oct. 18 and will run through Oct. 31. The Immediate Theatre Company and Monarch Theater present the limited run.

The cast of Ghost Light includes Kate Benson (Mrs. Farnsworth), Bryant Mason (Kissing Fidel) and Hugh Sinclair (Strom Thurmond is not a Racist).

Designing the production are Jason Sims (sets), Evan Purcell (lights), Carla Bellisio (costumes), David Margolin Lawson (sound) and Alex Koch (multimedia).

According to press notes, "A couple arrives at a motel room for an afternoon of clandestine sex. Their tryst is interrupted by a security guard with alarming news about the room they’re in. A vicious and violent cat-and-mouse game ensues as they rush to uncover the truth behind a horrifying urban legend."

Desi Moreno-Penson's plays include Screwing Rachel, 3 to a Session: A Monster’s Tale and Devil Land, which premiered at the 2007 Summer Play Festival.
