In a statement Robert Diamond, the event's producer said, "Though we were decently sold for '3 weeks out' in today's economy, I've been fielding calls day and night, from some of the more than a dozen charitable events that were scheduled for the same timeframe and with the charities themselves, telling us that BroadwayWorld.com's devotion to its own benefit, had been harming our normal aggressive promotion of their events - yielding sluggish sales all around.
"In this time and economy, when all of these very worthy organizations need help more than ever, and with additional events for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS scheduled in the same week, we decided to move our concert forward."
Refunds are currently available by visiting ticketmaster.com or the point of purchase.
A new performance date and venue are expected shortly.
The evening, which was to be directed by Richard Jay-Alexander as a benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, was scheduled to feature the talents of Cortes Alexander, Joey Arias, Michael Arden, Gary Beach, Justin Bond, Laura Bell Bundy, Liz Callaway, Mario Cantone, John Cudia, Melissa Errico, Ellen Greene, Melora Hardin, Gregory Jbara, Robert Marien, Will & Anthony Nunziata, Rosie O'Donnell, Nicholas Rodriguez, Jennifer Hallie Rosen and Jarrod Spector.
