Prior to her Oct. 14-17 Birdland engagement, Tony-winning singer-actor-dancer Chita Rivera presented an invitation-only performance at the famed jazz venue Oct. 13 to celebrate the release of her new CD.

Among those who turned out were David Hyde Pierce, Catherine Zeta-Jones & Michael Douglas, Harvey Fierstein, Tommy Tune, Lucie Arnaz, John Kander, Terrence McNally, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Carol Hall, Stephen Flaherty, Bebe Neuwirth, Brian Stokes Mitchell, George Dvorsky and fellow cast members from The Visit and The Dancer's Life.

Chita Rivera's new album "And Now I Swing" was released Oct. 13 on the Yellow Sound label, offering new takes on classic theatre songs and jazz standards.

Rivera will play Birdland through Oct. 17. Show times are Oct. 14-15 at 8:30 PM, and 8:30 and 11 PM Oct. 16 and 17.
