Playwright David Rambo, whose biographical play about columnist Ann Landers, The Lady With All the Answers, is currently playing Off-Broadway, is writing a new solo play about Ronald Reagan.

Variety reports that producers David Permut and Mark Travis have tapped playwright and "CSI" TV writer Rambo write a new play about the former actor and late two-term U.S. president for a theatrical presentation that would be filmed.

Rambo's plays include God's Man in Texas, The Ice-Breaker, The Spin Cycle, Babbitt and an all-new book for the classic Lerner and Loewe musical Paint Your Wagon.

The same producers did the stage-to-screen transfers of a Harry S. Truman-based one-man show, Give 'Em Hell, Harry, in 1975, and a Teddy Roosevelt play, Bully, in 1978. James Whitmore starred.

No casting for the role of charismatic Reagan was reported. No dates for a stage presentation were revealed. Peter Hunt (a Tony Award winner for directing 1776) will direct Reagan.
