Kennedy, Doyle and Cooper Join "Cutting Edge Composers" Nov. 9 Concert

Broadway's Lauren Kennedy and Spring Awakening vets Matt Doyle and Lilli Cooper join the performer lineup of the upcoming concert "Cutting Edge Composers: A New Generation of Musical Theater Songwriters," Nov. 9.

Josh Young and Laura Pietropinto present the second installment of the series at New York City's Canal Room Nov. 9 at 8 PM. Pietropinto directs and Julie McBride is music director.

New performers added include Kennedy (Vanities, Spamalot), Doyle (Bye Bye Birdie) and Cooper (Spring Awakening). Katie Thompson (R.R.R.E.D., GIANT) and The Black Suits' Jason "Sweettooth" Williams and Lance Rubin are also added to the roster that already includes Tituss Burgess (The Little Mermaid), Joe Cassidy (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), Colin Hanlon (Rent), Jeremy Kushnier (Footloose), Brooke Sunny Moriber (Threepenny Opera), Daphne Rubin-Vega (Rent) and Josh Young (Les Miserables).

The artists will perform world premiere songs penned by Jeremy Schonfeld, Peter Lerman, Brian Lowdermilk and Kait Kerrigan, Jonathan Reid Gealt, Brad Alexander and Adam Mathias, Chris Miller and Nathan Tysen, Joshua Salzman and Ryan Cunningham, Creighton Irons and Sean Mahoney, Joe Iconis and Ryan Scott Oliver.
