Revelation Readings to Offer McLaughlin's Penelope Nov. 2

Ellen McLaughlin will perform her solo musical evening Penelope as part of Red Bull Theater's Obie-winning Revelation Readings.
Presented on Nov. 2 at 7:30 PM,
Penelope features music by Sarah Kirkland Snider and a book by McLaughlin, who has appeared in the Broadway productions of
Angels in America and
A Delicate Balance at the Arena Stage.
Lisa Rothe directs the one-woman work based on Homer's "Odyssey," which "explores the trauma of war through one woman's journey into her husband's lost memory."
Upcoming readings in the series include Henrik Ibsen's The Pretenders (Nov. 30); Jean Racine's Bérénice (Dec. 14); and Thomas Heywood's A Woman Killed with Kindness (Dec. 28).
Readings are held at the Theater at St. Clement's, located at 423 West 46th Street in Manhattan.
