PHOTO CALL: A Streetcar Named Desire, with Blanchett, Hits U.S.

Cate Blanchett stars in The Sydney Theatre Company production of A Streetcar Named Desire playing at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, before heading to New York City's BAM.



Liv Ullmann directs the Tennessee Williams classic that will play the Kennedy Center Oct. 29-Nov. 21 and the Brooklyn Academy of Music Nov. 27-Dec. 20.

Blanchett (Hedda Gabler, "The Aviator," "Elizabeth") stars (as Blanche DuBois) in a cast that also features Joel Edgerton (Stanley Kowalski) and Robin McLeavy (Stella Kowalski). The Australian company also features Michael Denkha, Elaine Hudson, Gertraud Ingeborg, Morgan David Jones, Russell Kiefel, Jason Klarwein, Mandy McElhinney, Tim Richards, Sara Zwangobani and musician Alan John.
