Bob Clyman's medical thriller Secret Order, featuring Todd Lawson and Richmond Hoxie, officially opens at the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis Oct. 30.

Risa Brainin directs the four-person play that began previews Oct. 28 and will run through Nov. 15 in the Emerson Studio Theatre of the Loretto-Hilton Center for the Performing Arts.

Lawson is cast as promising scientist William Shumway, with Hoxie as Dr. Robert Brock. The cast also includes Angela Lin as Alice Curiton and Stan Lachow as Saul Roth.

In Secret Order, according to the Rep, "a promising young doctor may have made a breakthrough in cancer research that could lead to a cure but, lured from his Midwestern academic life to one of the country’s leading medical research institutes, soon finds his work in cellular biology taking a backseat to power struggles, ethical quandaries and real questions about the purity of science."

The production team includes Mark Wilson (scenic and lighting designer), Lou Bird (costume designer) and Rusty Wandall (sound designer).

Clyman's plays also include Famous Ali, Where The Sun Never Sets, The Lower Cortex and Sigmund Freud: The Untold Story. Secret Order was first staged as part of the "First Light" festival of New York's Ensemble Studio Theater in 2002.
