As previously announced, international gigastar Dame Edna — aka Barry Humphries — will return to Broadway later this season in It's All About Me, which is billed as "a glorious celebration of everything Edna."
Performances will begin March 6, 2010, at a Shubert theatre to be announced with an official opening scheduled for March 23, 2010. Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks will direct.
The similarly titled All About Me, the new show from award-winning pianist and singer Michael Feinstein, will arrive on Broadway March 13, 2010.
In a statement Everage said, "It's All About Me is my title. While I was saddened to hear that Mr. Feinstein did not heed my sage advice to change the title of his show, I'm overjoyed to hear that he at least took my suggestion to open his show after mine. I'm sure Mrs. Feinstein is very proud of her son."
Zaks earned Tonys for directing The House of Blue Leaves, Lend Me a Tenor, Six Degrees of Separation and Guys and Dolls. He also staged the current tour The 101 Dalmatians Musical.
