Peters Concert Raises More Than Half a Million for Charities

Tony, Grammy and Golden Globe Award winner Bernadette Peters' one-night-only concert, Bernadette Peters: A Special Concert for Broadway Barks Because Broadway Cares, Nov. 9 at Broadway's Minskoff Theatre, raised more than $600,000 for charity.
The concert raised $615,000 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and Broadway Barks.
The evening boasted direction by Richard Jay-Alexander with musical direction by Marvin Laird, who led a 30-piece orchestra.
Special guests included original Into the Woods cast members Joy Franz, Merle Louise, Kay McClelland and Lauren Mitchell as well as Mary Tyler Moore, who co-founded Broadway Barks with Peters.
