Mando Alvarado's Post No Bills begins its world premiere presentation at Off-Broadway's Rattlestick Playwrights Theater Nov. 11.

Michael Ray Escamilla directs the new work billed as "a Tex-Mex play with music." Opening night is scheduled for Nov. 19 at the downtown Manhattan company's home on Waverly Place for a run scheduled through Dec. 13.

"Fleeing the Texas border town she grew up in, Reyna arrives in the big city, with nothing but her dream of becoming a singer/songwriter,"according to Rattlestick notes. "Taking up with a pair of street musicians, she discovers that love is violent, friendship is pain and the true music comes from the depths of your soul."

The cast of Post No Bills will feature Audrey Esparza, Teddy Canez, John Martin Green and Wade Allain-Marcus.

The design team includes Raul Abrego (sets), Ren Ladassor (costumes), Joel Moritz (lights), Eric Shim (sound) and Eugenia Furneaux-Arends (props). Sandra Rubio provides original music. Randall Eng handles music direction. Melissa Mae Gregus serves as production stage manager. Krystal Banzon is assistant director.

The Off-Broadway troupe began its 15th anniversary season with Lucy Thurber's Killers and Other Family and will continue Craig Wright's Blind (Feb. 18-March 21, 2010) and Annie Baker's The Aliens (April 15-May 23, 2010).

Tickets to Post No Bills at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, 224 Waverly Place (between West 11th and Perry St.), are available by calling (212) 868-4444. For more information visit Rattlestick.org.
