Cirque du Soleil's annual holiday production, Wintuk — a family-friendly, acrobatics-filled tale of a boy's passion for snow — returns to New York City Nov. 11 at the WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden.

Performances continue to Jan. 3, 2010.

Featuring a cast of over 50 international performers from Cirque du Soleil, Wintuk is now playing its third consecutive year in Manhattan. The winter-themed spectacle had its world premiere at the WaMu Theater in 2007 and plans to return annually.

According to production notes, Wintuk is "an exciting winter adventure about a boy's quest for snow." The show weaves acrobatics, theatrical effects and songs into an extraordinary journey to an imaginary land called Wintuk."

Directed by Fernand Rainville, Wintuk features a book by Richard Blackburn, music by Simon Carpenter, lyrics by Jim Corcoran, choreography by Catherine Archambault, and acrobatic design by Daniel Cola and Guy St. Amour.

The creative team for Wintuk also includes Yves Aucoin (lighting design), Francois Barbeau (costume and puppet visual design), René Charbonneau (puppetry design), Michael Curry (props and puppet design), Jonathan Deans (sound design), Francis Laporte (images and projections design), Matthieu Larivée (lighting design), Leon Rothenberg (sound design), Patricia Ruel (set, props and puppet visual design), and Eleni Uranis (make-up design).
