The West End production of La Cage Aux Folles is to shutter Jan. 2, 2010, at the Playhouse Theatre, where it has been playing since October 2008.

Terry Johnson's production, which originated at London's Menier Chocolate Factory before transferring to the West End, is due to open at Broadway's Longacre Theatre, beginning performances April 6, 2010, prior to an official opening April 18, with Douglas Hodge reprising his London Olivier Award winning performance as Albin. Hodge returns to the London production from Nov. 30 for the final run, joined by Denis Lawson as Georges who also played alongside him when the production first transferred to the West End.

The roles of Albin and Georges are currently being played by John Barrowman and Simon Burke respectively, through Nov. 28.
