Pop star Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, who made her London stage debut as Roxie Hart in Chicago, will reprise her performance for New York audiences when she joins the Broadway cast of the Tony-winning Kander and Ebb musical later this month.
Simpson-Wentz will begin performances at Broadway's Ambassador Theatre Nov. 30. She will play a limited engagement as the merry murderess through Feb. 7, 2010.
"I'm honored to be reprising my role as Roxie Hart, returning to the stage and joining this amazing cast," said Simpson-Wentz in a statement. "Being on Broadway is a childhood dream come true."
Simpson-Wentz's albums include "Autobiography," "I Am Me" and "Bittersweet World." Her TV appearances include "Malcolm in the Middle," "Saved by the Bell," and a recurring role for two years on the WB's "7th Heaven." The singer-actress also starred in MTV's "The Ashlee Simpson Show."
