Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, who underwent an operation for prostate cancer in late October, has been hospitalized again. According to a statement on his personal website, "Andrew has been re-admitted to hospital tonight following his operation for prostate cancer. He has been advised that while the operation was entirely successful, he has developed a post-operative 'chronic infection' which needs immediate treatment. He still hopes to back at work in the New Year."

According to a news report in London's Daily Mail, "He was taken to a hospital in London, where he is likely to remain for two or three days while he is treated."

Rehearsals for his new musical Love Never Dies, a sequel to The Phantom of the Opera, are due to begin Jan. 4, 2010, before the show begins performances at the West End's Adelphi Theatre Feb. 20 prior to an official opening March 9. Its Broadway premiere has also already been set for Nov. 11, at a theatre still to be announced.
