Broadway favorite will offer two shows at the Metropolitan Room in Manhattan Dec. 31.
The 8 PM show, entitled Passage of Time, will celebrate Callaway's new PS Classics CD of the same name. Expect songs by Stephen Sondheim, James Taylor, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Maltby and Shire, Ahrens and Flaherty, Stephen Schwartz and Carly Simon. There is a $40 cover charge.
The 10:30 PM program, Countdown with Callaway, is billed as "The Best of Liz." Cabaretgoers can expect to hear Callaway's versions of "Meadowlark," "Memory," "The Story Goes On" and more. There is a $125 cover charge, which includes open bar and food.
Liz Callaway, most recently on Broadway in The Look of Love, made her Broadway debut in the original cast of Stephen Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along, and she also took part in the anniversary concert of that musical. For her work in the musical Baby, she received a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical, and her other Broadway credits include The Three Musketeers, Miss Saigon and Cats. Callaway's solo recordings also include "The Beat Goes On," "Anywhere I Wander—Liz Callaway Sings Frank Loesser" and "The Story Goes On."
