Casting is now complete for MCC Theater's American premiere of The Pride by Alexi Kaye Campbell.
The Pride is billed as "a complex love triangle, replete with conflicting loyalties and passions, which jumps from 1958 to the present and back in a maelstrom of fantasy, repression and rebellion in this innovative new drama." Opening night is set for Feb. 16, 2010.
James' stage credits include Gethsemane at London's National Theatre, King Lear at Manchester's Royal Exchange Theatre and The Glass Menagerie at the Chichester/Minerva Theatres. James' film credits include "Last Chance Harvey," "Road to Guantanamo" and "De Lovely."
Directed by Joe Mantello (Glengarry Glen Ross, Take Me Out), The Pride will feature scenic design by David Zinn (Xanadu), costume design by Mattie Ullrich (Naked Angels' Fault Lines), lighting design by Paul Gallo (Pal Joey) and sound design by Jill DuBoff (After Miss Julie).
The Pride plays the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street) through March 10, 2010. Individual tickets go on sale Dec. 15.
