Urban Stages to Host Summer of the Soda Fountain Girls Concerts

Zaitchik and his band, The Blue Bottle Collection, will lead the 8:30 PM concerts. Performers are scheduled to include Carey Anderson, Jeremy Bass, Jody Flader, Kate Mollica, Lauren Riley Rigby, Chris "Shockwave" Sullivan, Nathan Tysen and Emily Walton.
Erika Christensen will direct the work that is described as "a meditative and magical summer road trip told through lush, evocative songs." Alex Koch provides video projection.
Zaitchik authored book, music and lyrics for Soda Fountain Girls. He is also the creator of the musical Picnic at Hanging Rock, which received a workshop at Lincoln Center Theater and was presented at the O'Neill Music Theater Conference this past summer.
Plans are underway to record The Summer of the Soda Fountain Girls.
