Sessions, with "Guiding Light" Star Newman, to Close in January 2010

Albert M. Tapper's musical Sessions, which currently features "Guiding Light" Star Robert Newman, will end its run at Off-Broadway's Algonquin Theater Jan. 3, 2010, following the 3 PM matinee.

When it closes, the production will have played 61 previews and 360 regular performances.

Directed by Thomas Cote, the cast currently features Newman, Bertilla Baker, Dennis Holland, Scott Richard Foster, Ken Jennings, Trisha Rapier, Kelli Maguire, Rachelle Rak and Sky Seals.

Sessions, according to press notes, is a "candid and witty musical about the everyday life of a New York therapist and his patients."

The creative team includes Steven Gross (musical arrangements, orchestrations, supervision), John McDermott (scenic design), Penny Ayn Maas (choreography), Michele Pasqua (costume design), Brant Thomas Murray (lighting design), Josh Liebert (sound design) and James Horvath (additional choreography).



The musical plays Wednesday-Saturday at 8 PM with 3 PM matinees on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.
