Kennedy, Jibson and More Sing the Songs of Scott Alan at Birdland Dec. 7

Broadway's Lauren Kennedy, Carly Jibson, Alison Case and Kate Wetherhead join composer Scott Alan Dec. 7 for an evening of his music at Birdland.



The 7 PM concert features Kennedy (Vanities, Sunset Boulevard), Jibson (Cry-Baby, Hairspray), Case (Hair) and Wetherhead (Legally Blonde), as well as Allie Trimm (Bye Bye Birdie, 13), Shayna Steele (Hairspray), Natalie Weiss (Wicked), Julie Reiber (Wicked), Nikki Renee Daniels (Les Miserables), Courtney Balan (The Marvelous Wonderettes), Marla Mindelle (South Pacific), Crystal Monee Hall (Rent), Lauren Thomas, Ellyn Marsh and Carrie Manolakos (Mamma Mia!).

Alan will also perform some of his own material in the evening that is presented as part of Jim Caruso's Cast Party.

Among the songs fans can expect to hear are "His Name," "Never Neverland (Fly Away)," "And There It Is" and "This Time." The evening will also boast selections from Alan's recordings "Dreaming Wide Awake" and "Keys."

Alan will be featured on piano with Allison Seidner and Mairi Dorman-Phaneuf on cello, David Gold and David Fallo on viola, and Victoria Paterson and Kiku Enomoto on violin.

Scott Alan wrote the book, music and lyrics for the musical Detour, which was seen in Los Angeles. Among his forthcoming projects are Piece and The Warmth of the Womb. His albums "Dreaming Wide Awake" and "Keys" are currently available. Alan also produces the monthly Monday Nights, New Voices concert at the Duplex.
