Hoffman is offering 7:30 PM performances of Whining in the Wind City Monday nights Dec. 7-21 at the Royal George Cabaret.

The Chicago run is a homecoming for Hoffman, who was a member of the Second City ensemble from 1987-1994.

According to press notes, "Not for the faint of heart or those easily offended, Hoffman promises to skewer everything that is Merry with her biting, fearless stand up comedy and original songs. A cash bar will be available but don't even bother requesting eggnog, mulled apple cider or any other such holiday drink!"

Hoffman received a Theatre World Award for her work in Hairspray. Her other theatrical credits include Xanadu, The Sisters Rosensweig, Regrets Only, Book of Liz (Obie Award), Straightjacket, Incident at Cobbler's Knob and One Woman Shoe (Jeff Award). Hoffman has been seen on screen in "Legally Blonde II," "Kissing Jessica Stein," "Garden State," "Mo' Money" and "Freaky Friday."
