According to press notes, Arturo's Window, which is based on original material by John Loan, is the story of John Jerome, "corporate party planner who does good deeds - and embezzles $4 million! Goes to prison, gets out, wants to tell his story, for a book. Gay Robin Hood? White collar criminal? King of cabaret? Who knows? He never gave an interview. Until now." Show time is 7:30 PM.
The reading of Steven Fisher and Joan Ross Sorkin's In the Theatre will take place Dec. 10 at 3 and 7:30 PM. With music and lyrics by Fisher and a book by Fisher and Sorkin, In the Theatre features Tony Award winner Judy Kaye (Mamma Mia!), Kevin Loreque (I Am My Own Wife, international tour), Jim Poulos (Rent), Colin Hanlon, Shorey Walker (Seussical at the Lucille Lortel) and Darryl Winslow (Evil Dead: The Musical). David Glenn Armstrong directs, and Fisher is the musical director.
In the Theatre is about Joan Littlewood, "one of the most important women in twentieth-century theatre. Joan was bold, brash and brilliant - and forgotten. And she's not happy about it."
Although admission to the readings is free, reservations are suggested. Reservations for Arturo's Window are fully booked and only available for the wait list.
