A host of songwriters took part in The Songs of Our Lives: Performed by the Songwriters Who Wrote Them Dec. 8 to benefit the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts.

The 7 PM concert was presented at the 500-seat Little Flower Theater in Manhattan.

The one-night-only event featured songwriters talking about – and performing — the songs they wrote. The program included recollections from High School of Music and Art alumnus Charles Fox as well as songwriters Hal David, Alan Bergman, Charles Strouse, Paul Williams, Alan Menken and David Zippel. Tony Walton directed the evening.
