The Guerrilla Shakespeare Project will launch its new season Jan. 7, 2010, with the rarely produced The Two Noble Kinsmen at New York's Medicine Show Theatre.

Directed by Diana Buirski, the cast features company members Jacques Roy, Jordan Reeves, Kimiye Corwin, Ginger Eckert and Jordan Kaplan, as well as Craig Wesley Divino, Zachary Fine, Scott Raker and Lindsay Torrey. The production runs through Jan. 17.

The Two Noble Kinsmen is billed as "an adventure of implacable idealism." According to press notes, "The plot focuses on four young lovers rocked by Fate, desperately clinging to what they feel sure will provide happiness. The tragicomedy rises from their collisions with each other and with the sophisticated and silly characters they encounter in Athens."

The Two Noble Kinsmen features set design by Tristan Jeffers, lighting design by Tom Schwans, costumes by Lydia Franz and James King, sound and music by Charles Shell and Jane Pfitsch, and fight choreography by Craig Divino and Jordan Reeves. Patricia Lynn is stage manager.

The Guerrilla Shakespeare Project "blends traditions of classical acting with updated concepts of style, behavior, dress, music and mood. Ancient Athens will be made new and now, when the players meet in a gilded, forested world where duels ensue and doo-wop ditties set the tone."
