The Story of a Marriage, the second of three installments of Horton Foote's The Orphans' Home Cycle plays Off-Broadway at the Signature Theatre.

Hartford Stage artistic director and frequent Foote collaborator Michael Wilson directs the cycle. The Story of a Marriage will officially open Dec. 17.

Based partly on the life of Foote's father and the courtship of his parents, The Orphans' Home Cycle "begins with a father's death in a small-Texas town at the turn of the century, a loss that sends his son, Horace Robedaux, on an odyssey through the darkest corners of the heart as he learns to become a husband, father, and patriarch," according to press notes.

The cast, which features Hallie Foote, Bill Heck, Maggie Lacey, and James DeMarse, includes Jenny Dare Paulin, Bryce Pinkham, Stephen Plunkett.
