Craig Alan Edwards will bring his Martin Luther King, Jr.-inspired solo play The Man in Room 306 to 59E59 Theaters Off-Broadway in January 2010.

Edwards penned and stars in the one-man drama that premiered at New Jersey's Luna Stage in 1995 and has toured throughout the U.S. The Off-Broadway engagement will run Jan. 15-Feb. 14, 2010. An official opening night has been set for Jan. 20, 2010.

Press notes read: "Experience the private journey of a public man during an extraordinary time. The Man in Room 306 is an intimate, human portrait Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. set in Memphis on April 3, 1968, the evening before his tragic assassination on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel. Dr. King struggles with himself, his future and the very soul of a non-violent movement shadowed by the rise of Black Power with stunning depth and complexity. Before this night is over, he will change...and so will the country."

Cheryl Katz directs the production that has set design by Charlie Corcoran, lighting design by Jill Nagle and sound design by Andy Cohen.
