Academy Award nominated composer Philip Glass will team with Tony Award-winning playwright David Henry Hwang for Icarus at the Edge of Time, which will be presented as part of the spring season of Works & Process at the Guggenheim.

Works of note for theatre fans include Made in Naples from Tony-nominated choreographer Karole Armitage (Hair, Passing Strange) and her company, Armitage Gone! Dance.

Presented Feb. 7 and 8, 2010, the work is "inspired by the Neapolitan character of Pulcinella. Pulcinella is known for his ever shifting nature – from bawdy to aristocratic, romantic to rebellious."

Made in Naples will have sets by Karen Kilimnik (inspired by Tiepolo’s drawings) and costumes by Alba Clemente based on the Commedia dell’Arte tradition.

On March 11, 2010, Harvard physicist Lisa Randall, Spanish composer Hèctor Parra and artist Matthew Ritchie will collaborate on Hypermusic: Ascension, a new opera-inspired, site-specific monodrama in the museum rotunda.

Icarus at the Edge of Time will be presented April 25 and 26, 2010. The work is a collaboration between Glass, Hwang, physicist Brian Greene, art duo Al and Al, and London's Southbank Centre artistic director Jude Kelly. Icarus will receive its official world premiere at Lincoln Center on June 2, 2010.

Additional performances include American Ballet Theatre (May 9 and 10, 2010); Pacific Northwest Ballet (May 14 and 15, 2010); ballet Nacho Duat (May 17 and 18, 2010); and New York City Ballet (May 23 and 24, 2010).
