The Vineyard Theatre will honor Broadway composer John Kander and his work with the late Fred Ebb at its annual gala.

David Hyde Pierce — who appeared in the musical team's Curtains — will host the event to take place at New York City's Hudson Theater March 8, 2010.

"A host of top-name theatre artists are expected to perform and pay tribute," according to an announcement. The roster of stars have yet to be announced.

Kander is known for his work on such musicals as Chicago, Cabaret, Kiss of the Spiderwoman and more. The Vineyard will next present the world premiere production of the musical The Scottsboro Boys - written by composer Kander and lyricist Ebb with a book by David Thompson. (Vineyard also previously presented the duo's Flora, The Red Menace.)

Susan Stroman will direct and choreograph The Scottsboro Boys, which begins previews Feb. 12, 2010 and opens March 10. John Cullum, Brandon Victor Dixon and Colman Domingo will be featured in the cast.

Tickets for the gala evening are available by calling Scott Pyne at 212-353-3366 x242 or online at vineyardtheatre.org.
