WeildWorks will present the New York premiere of Obie winner Charles Mee's valentine to Paris, Fêtes de la Nuit, beginning Feb. 8, 2010, at the Ohio Theatre.

Kim Weild directs the adult-themed work that incorporates American Sign Language into a production that features three deaf and hearing actors. Fêtes de la Nuit will officially open Feb. 11, 2010, and run through Feb. 27, 2010.

The cast includes Alexandria Wailes (Mother Courage and Her Children, Big River, Pippin), Jubil Khan, John McGinty, Jodi Dick, Corinne Edgerly (All The Way Home), Babis Gousias, Jessica Green, Ana Grosse, Garrett Hendricks (Miss Evers’ Boys), Devon Jordan (Evanston: A Rare Comedy), Kyle Knauf (Benten Kozo), Khris Lewin (Time Is the Mercy of Eternity), Donnie Mather (Trojan Women: A Love Story), Luis Moreno (The Age of Iron), Mirabelle Ordinaire, Rumiko Oyama and Kiat-Sing Teo.

Here's how the production is billed: "A deliciously naughty valentine to Paris, Fêtes de la Nuit celebrates life, love and all things Parisian, weaving together a pulsating collage of dance, live music, tango, language, video and drama. Set in a sidewalk café in 21st century Paris, Fêtes reveals that from first kisses to eternal bonds, a quiet truth remains: it is always love that makes us human. Fêtes de la Nuit, translated as 'celebrations of the night,' sensually expresses the beauty, complexity and passion of the human condition in relationship to the divine experience of lust and love."

Designing the production are Lewis Merkin (American Sign Language consultant), Brian Scott (set design), Charles Foster (lighting design), Lisa Renee Jordan (costume design), Christian Frederickson (sound design), C. Andrew Bauer (video), Ismael Ramirez (film) and Mirabelle Ordinaire (dramaturg).

Fêtes de la Nuit received its world premiere at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre in 2005 under the direction of Les Waters.
