No creative team has been announced, although the New York daily says that Billy Elliot director Stephen Daldry had been approached about the project.

"Dumbo" features a score by Oliver Wallace, Frank Churchill and Ned Washington. Song titles include "Casey Junior," "Baby Mine," "Pink Elephants On Parade" and "When I See An Elephant Fly." The animated motion picture won an Academy Award for Best Music, Scoring of a Musical Picture and was also nominated for Best Music, Original Song for "Baby Mine."

Disney's Broadway outings include Beauty and the Beast, Aida, Tarzan, Mary Poppins, The Little Mermaid and the Tony-winning The Lion King.

No official announcement about a musical version of "Dumbo" has been made.
