Laguna Playhouse in Laguna Beach, CA, has made some cutbacks and changes due to declining revenues and dwindling audiences, according to the Orange County Register.

Effective immediately, the organization has exited its leased production center in Laguna Hills. The venue housed a set-building workshop, rehearsal studio, classrooms and a telemarketing office. The playhouse will seek other spaces for rehearsals and classes.

"We're going to outsource our set-building," Andrew Barnicle, the playhouse's artistic director, told the Register. "We're hoping that will save us some money. Telemarketing we'll outsource as well."

Four members of the full-time production staff have been laid off.

The company has no plans to vacate its mainstage home, the Moulton Theatre on Laguna Canyon Road.

The 2010-11 Laguna Playhouse season will be announced in the coming weeks.
