Falling for Eve, a new musical by Joe DiPietro, Bret Simmons and David Howard, will begin performances at Off-Broadway's York Theatre Company July 6.

Larry Raben will direct the production, which officially opens July 15. Performances will continue through Aug. 8.

The cast will feature Krystal Joy Brown, Celina Carvajal, Nehal Joshi, Adam Kantor, Jose Llana and Sasha Sloan.

Memphis' DiPietro authored the book to the musical (once called Me & Eve) with a score by Bret Simmons (music) and David Howard (lyrics). The six-person, multicultural musical is a re-telling of the Adam and Eve story. Kim Steiner is musical director.

Falling for Eve, according to press notes, "offers an enchanting second look at the world's first love story. Creation is going perfectly. Eve, curious about what lies beyond the Garden of Eden, and obsessed with the notion that something is forbidden, bites the infamous apple. Then Adam doesn't. How exactly they'll get together to create the human race is anybody's guess."

The production will also feature scenic design by Beowulf Boritt, costumes by Bobby Pearce and lighting by Herrick Goldman.

Tickets are now available by calling (212) 935-5820 or by visiting www.yorktheatre.org. All performances will be at the company's home at The Theatre at Saint Peter's (54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).
