Frank Wildhorn to Receive USC's Tommy Award

Tony Award-nominated composer Frank Wildhorn will be honored at the second annual Tommy Awards, celebrating the work of University of Southern California alumni, June 28 in Manhattan.

Wildhorn, best known for the Broadway musical Jekyll & Hyde, will be honored alongside author David Bach, investment executive Timothy Coleman, architect Jonie Fu, and art critic Peter Plagens during the event at the Skirball Center.

Original Broadway Hair revival cast member Bryce Ryness will host the 7:30 PM event that will feature music by Wildhorn, as well as Jason Robert Brown (Parade, 13) and Laurence O'Keefe (Legally Blonde). Michael Schwartz will direct the performance. Kate Russo and Amir Akhavan produce.

Performing will be Lara Janine, Catherine Ricafort, Elizabeth Brackenbury, Danielle Faitelson, Briga Heelan, Laurie Heelan and recording artists Karmina.

Frank Wildhorn earned a Tony Award nomination for the score to The Scarlet Pimpernel. He has also penned the musicals The Civil War, Dracula, Camille Claudel, Svengali, Bonnie & Clyde and Wonderland.
