Annaleigh Ashford, most recently seen as Jeanie in the Tony-winning revival of Hair, will return to the stage of Birdland July 12.
The singing actress will play the famed jazz club at 7 PM. James Sampliner will be the evening's musical director.
Cabaretgoers can expect tunes made popular by everyone from Doris Day to Janis Joplin, with an emphasis on music from the 60s and 70s. Song titles will include “Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters,” “Beautiful” and “When I'm 64,” among others.
Annaleigh Ashford made her Broadway debut originating the role of Margot in Legally Blonde and later assumed the role of Glinda in the New York company of Wicked. The singing actress has also appeared in the tour of Wicked and in workshops of Catch Me If You Can, Pal Joey and Black Suits.
