Foglight produces the play by the author of Matthew Modine Saves the Alpacas, the meta-theatrical showbiz satire that starred Modine at Geffen Playhouse in 2009.
Directed by Sofia Alvarez, Notice Me tells the tale of four San Fernando Valley teenagers "desperate to be noticed in the morass of our contemporary 24/7 media culture," according to production notes. "Like sound in a vacuum, their voices cry out unheard in the barren landscape of suburbia." Opening night is July 21.
The Off-Broadway production in the East Village features Jason Shelton, Annabel LaLonde, Jake Green and Susan Spratt.
The design team includes James Bolenbaugh (scenic design), Eric Southern (lighting design), Daniel Tierney (original music and sound design) and Justine Siwula (costume design).
Daniel Grossman (producer) is the founder of Foglight LLC. Through this Brooklyn-based production company, he has produced music videos, short films, original theatre and art films.
Notice Me plays at The Wild Project at 195 East Third St. between Avenue A and Avenue B. Performances will play evenings at 8 PM.
Tickets are $25. For more info, visit www.NoticeMe2010.com.
