Ain't That a Kick in the Head? Robin and the 7 Hoods Gets Extra Week at Old Globe

The Old Globe's world-premiere run of Robin and the 7 Hoods – A New Musical and the West Coast premiere of Tony Award winner Joe DiPietro's play The Last Romance will each receive a week of additional performances.

Originally set to close on Aug. 22, Robin and the 7 Hoods — inspired by the Rat Pack movie, and fueled by a Sammy Cahn-Jimmy Van Heusen score — will now run through Aug. 29.

The Last Romance, a tale of late-December love, starring Marion Ross, was originally set to close on Sept. 5 and will now run through Sept. 12.

Robin and the 7 Hoods features a book by Tony Award winner Rupert Holmes (Curtains, Drood) and songs by four-time Academy Award winners Cahn and Van Heusen. Directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, with musical supervision and vocal and incidental music arrangements by John McDaniel, the Broadway-aimed musical comedy is currently in previews. Opening night is July 30.

The Last Romance stars Globe associate artist and television icon Ross and her longtime partner Paul Michael. The new romantic comedy was written for them by DiPietro (a recent Tony winner for Memphis). Patricia Conolly and Joshua Jeremiah complete the cast. Directed by Richard Seer, The Last Romance begins July 30 in The Old Globe's Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre. Opening night is Aug. 5.
