Sold-Out Heathers Concert to Star Annaleigh Ashford and Jeremy Jordan

Original Legally Blonde cast member Annaleigh Ashford and Jeremy Jordan will co-star in the sold-out concert presentation of the new musical Heathers, which will receive its New York debut at Joe's Pub this September.

Tony Award-nominated Legally Blonde composer Laurence O'Keefe has collaborated with Reefer Madness author Kevin Murphy on book, music and lyrics for the musical based on the biting 1988 film of the same title about a powerful clique of high school girls.

Andy Fickman (Reefer Madness) will direct the 7 and 9:30 PM concerts on Sept. 13.

Ashford, who originated the role of Margot in Legally Blonde, will portray Veronica Sawyer (played on film by Winona Ryder), and Jordan (West Side Story, Rock of Ages) has been cast as Jason Dean (Christian Slater in the film).

Additional casting will be announced shortly.

Producers describe Heathers this way: "The classic high school thriller features love, murder, power politics and even a little hope in the depths of an inferno even Dante couldn't imagine: eleventh grade."

Andy Cohen, J. Todd Harris and Amy Powers, in association with Sh-K-Boom Records, La Jolla Playhouse, Lakeshore Entertainment and Denise Di Novi produce the concert.
