With the box-office opening comes a special offer from the producers: For one day only, tickets priced at $19.31 (for the year in which the musical is set) will be available for mezzanine and balcony seats for the first preview on Oct. 7.
Tickets for $19.31 will also be available for balcony seats for performances through Oct. 14. The ticket offer is available at the box office on Sept. 2 only and will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
The Scottsboro Boys opens on Broadway Oct. 31.
The show is billed this way: "The Scottsboro Boys is the thrilling new musical by John Kander and Fred Ebb (Chicago, Cabaret). Based on the notorious 'Scottsboro' case in the 1930s — in which nine African-American men were unjustly accused of a terrible crime — this daring and wildly entertaining musical explores a fascinating chapter in American history with brilliant originality."
The production is directed and choreographed by five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman (The Producers), and features a book by David Thompson (who adapted the script for Chicago's record-breaking revival).
The Lyceum Theatre is located at 149 West 45th Street. Performances are Tuesday through Sunday at 8 PM, with matinees Saturday and Sunday at 3 PM.
