Based on the 1950 Billy Wilder movie with the same title, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Sunset Boulevard, with book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton, tells the tragic tale of has-been silent film star, Norma Desmond—stalled in the past and isolated in her dilapidated mansion—and her entanglement with a young screenwriter, Joe Gillis.
The show, which opened on Broadway in 1994, has not been seen in the Denver area since 1996 when the national touring production was launched from the Temple Buell Theatre.

Director Rod A. Lansberry's cast features Ann Crumb as Norma Desmond, Kevin Earley as Joe Gillis, Jenny Gelwick as Betty Schaefer, Stephen Day as Max, Mark Rubald as Cecil B. DeMille, and Jeremy Sortore as Artie.
