Joshua Henry, an original Broadway cast member of American Idiot who left the show to play a principal role in The Scottsboro Boys, returns to the Green Day rock musical on March 15 in the military-hero "Favorite Son" role that he created.

Also joining Henry (who got acclaim as Heywood Patterson in the Broadway musical The Scottsboro Boys in fall 2010) at the St. James are David Larsen (Billy Elliot) as Tunny and (from March 15-20) P.J. Griffith (lead singer of the band Blue Movie) as St. Jimmy.

Green Day frontman and the musical's composer and co-author Billie Joe Armstrong will return to the role of St. Jimmy on April 5 for the final three weeks of the Broadway production.

Following 421 performances on Broadway and 27 previews, American Idiot is scheduled to play its final performance on April 24.

Based on Green Day's groundbreaking rock album, American Idiot is by Billie Joe Armstrong (book, lyrics) and Michael Mayer (book, direction) and Green Day (music) and uses all of the songs from the Grammy Award-winning album (plus other Green Day songs) to tell the tale of three young suburban American men who take different paths in post-9/11 America.

American Idiot currently stars Van Hughes as Johnny, Justin Guarini as Will, Rebecca Naomi Jones as Whatsername, Libby Winters as The Extraordinary Girl and Jeanna de Waal as Heather. The cast also features Krystina Alabado, Declan Bennett, Jennifer Bowles, Andrew Call, Gerard Canonico, Miguel Cervantes, P.J. Griffith, Brian Charles Johnson, Jason Kappus, Lorin Latarro, Omar Lopez-Cepero, Leslie McDonel, Chase Peacock, Wallace Smith, Ben Thompson, Alysha Umphress, Aspen Vincent and Mikey Winslow.

The performance schedule is Tuesday at 7 PM, Wednesday 8 PM, Thursday at 8 PM, Friday at 8 PM, Saturday at 2 PM & 8 PM and Sunday at 3 PM and 7:30 PM.
