Casting is now complete for Rob Handel's A Maze, directed by Tony Award nominee Sam Buntrock, which will begin performances July 20 at the Powerhouse Theater.

New York Stage and Film and Vassar College collaborate to present the Powerhouse season of new works. A Maze will continue through July 31.

Buntrock (Sunday in the Park With George) will direct a cast including Mark Alhadeff (Cradle and All), Heidi Armbruster (Tea and Sympathy), Patrick Carroll (Good People), Betsy Hogg (The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie), Rebecca Naomi Jones (American Idiot, Passing Strange), Austin Lysy (Macbeth, The American Plan), Mariann Mayberry (August: Osage County) and Daniel Oreskes (Billy Elliot: The Musical, Aida).

According to the Powerhouse, "Three storylines intersect and interweave throughout A Maze: a graphic novelist (Carroll) struggles to complete his 15,000 page comic book, a musician (Lysy) searches for the inspiration for his next hit, and a young girl (Hogg) strives to recreate her identity after years in captivity."

The creative team for A Maze includes set designer Beowulf Boritt, lighting designer David Weiner, sound designer Jill B.C. DuBuff and costume designer Clint Ramos.
