Gloden Globe Award nominee Susan Anton will recall her days as Miss Baltimore Crabs in the Hollywood Bowl production of Hairspray, starring Tony Award-winning Broadway originals Harvey Fierstein and Marissa Jaret Winokur.

Anton (Will Rogers Follies, Hurlyburly) previously appeared as Velma Von Tussle in the streamlined Las Vegas production of Hairspray in 2006 and will return to the role for the Hollywood Bowl presentation.

As previously reported, Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell will direct and choreograph Hairspray, which will run Aug. 5-7.

In addition to Fierstein and Winokur reprising their roles as Edna and Tracy Turnblad, respectively, the cast includes Corbin Bleu (Seaweed), Drew Carey (Wilbur Turnblad), Diana DeGarmo (Penny Pingleton), Mo Gaffney (Prudy Pingleton, the Gym Teacher, the Matron), Nick Jonas (Link Larkin), Darlene Love (Motormouth Maybelle), Tara Macri (Amber), John Stamos (Corny Collins) and Michael McDonald (Harriman F. Spritzer, the Principal, Mr. Pinky, the Guard).

Lon Hoyt will be the musical director for the production. Mitchell was the original choreographer of Hairspray on Broadway, and Hoyt was the original musical director.

Marc Shaiman (music/co-lyricist) and Scott Wittman (co-lyricist), who are currently represented on Broadway with Catch Me If You Can, penned the Tony-winning score to Hairspray, which has a book by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan.

The Hollywood Bowl is located at 2301 N. Highland Ave. in Hollywood, CA. For more information visit HollywoodBowl.com or call (800) 745-3000.
