Amanda McBroom (Seesaw) kicks off the cabaret series July 23 at 7:30 PM performing in NOIR… Women and Sex!, an evening of pop music and songs from her most recent musicals. Expect songs from A Woman of Will, a tribute to Shakespeare’s women, and more. Following NOIR… Women and Sex!, Feldshuh (Golda’s Balcony, Lend Me A Tenor, Sarava!, Yentl) premieres her all-new show, Aging Is Optional, featuring "fabulous musical comedy and heartfelt ballads from Tovah’s bag of tricks."
Wilson (Legs Diamond) is featured in Julie Wilson in Concert, where she "take[s] you on the trip of her life," and Cabaret Stars in Concert, both presented July 24. Beginning at 7:30 PM, the International Cabaret Conference at Yale University will present the faculty and special guests, performing two songs each, along with cabaret icon Wilson.
McNight (Starmites) will offer A Night with McNight! July 28 at 7:30 PM. The performer will sing "from Broadway to Berlin to Country/Western and some songs that might offend almost everyone." Also on July 28, Pamela Tate will perform Blues In the Night, which is described as "the ups and downs of that thing called love."
Closing the series is the Cabaret Stars of Tomorrow July 30 at 7:30 PM. Yale's class of 2011 will perform an evening of two, one-hour, 13-song cabaret acts, featuring 26 students from across the United States and around the world, demonstrating the accomplishments of their nine days at The International Cabaret Conference at Yale University.
