Michael Douglas, who won Academy Awards for his work in “Wall Street” and “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” will star as late pianist Lee Liberace in an upcoming HBO film.

Variety reports that "Behind the Candelabra" will be directed by Steven Soderbergh. The film will also feature screen star Matt Damon as Scott Thorson, Liberace's lover.

The late pianist, a Las Vegas staple, was known as much for his piano stylings as he was for his glittering costumes, jewelry and candelabra.

An air date for the film has yet to be announced.
