Due to critical and popular success of the show, producers Daryl Roth and Eva Price announced Nov. 8 that a tour of The Judy Show will begin in spring 2012. Tour dates will be announced at a later time.
The solo show, written by Gold and Kate Moira Ryan, is directed by Amanda Charlton, who helmed the production's earlier incarnation at the Williamstown Theatre Festival. The Judy Show also features songs by Gold and Ryan with additional material by Eric Kornfeld and Bob Smith.
The Judy Show, according to press notes, offers a "hilarious look at [Gold's] life through the lens of the classic sitcoms of her youth. With multimedia, original music, laughter, and love, Judy shows us how she balances family and ambition with a little help from our favorite TV shows of the Seventies, Eighties, and Nineties."
The production features scenic and projection design by Andrew Boyce, lighting design by Paul Toben and sound design by Alex Neumann.
Daryl Roth and Eva Price produce in association with Jamie Cesa, Lynn Shaw, Tom Smedes, Bruce Robert Harris and Jack W. Batman.
The DR2 Theatre is located at 103 E. 15th Street, just east of Union Square. Tickets, priced $65, are available by visiting www.Telecharge.com or calling (212) 239-6200. For more information go to www.JudyGold.com.
