In the Heights' Robin De Jesus and Javier Muņoz Will Be Two Gentlemen of Verona in Washington, D.C.

Two-time Tony Award nominee Robin de Jesus and Drama Desk Award winner Javier Muñoz, who co-starred on Broadway in the musical In the Heights, will reunite for the Shakespeare Theatre Company's production of the rock musical Two Gentlemen of Verona.

Presented Jan. 27-29, 2012, the musical by Hair composer Galt MacDermot, Pulitzer-winning playwright John Guare (House of Blue Leaves, Six Degrees of Separation) and director Mel Shapiro, will run concurrently with STC's production of Shakespeare's play of the same title.

MacDermot (music), Guare (book/lyrics) and Shapiro (co-book adaptation/original direction) adapted Shakespeare's work for the 1971 musical that won the Tony Award for Best Book of a musical in 1972.

Amanda Dehnert will direct the musical, which will have choreography by Spencer Liff (Cry-Baby, The Wedding Singer).

De Jesus will play Speed, opposite Muñoz as Proteus. The cast will also feature Broadway veteran Ken Page (Cats, Guys and Dolls) as the Duke of Milan, Danny Rutigliano (The Lion King, Billy Elliot) as Launce and Helen Hayes Award nominee Eleasha Gamble (Oklahoma! at Arena Stage) as Silvia.

Additional cast members include Terence Archie as Valentine, Florrie Bagel as Lucetta, Tom Deckman as Thurio, Arielle Jacobs as Julia and Manu Narayan as Eglamour. Ensemble members include Carolyn Agan, Kellee Knighten Hough, Matthew John Kacergis, Kristian Lauren, Kevin S. McAllister, Katie McManus, Juan Carlos Sanchez, Chris Sizemore and Bayla Whitten.

The creative team includes scenic designer James Noone, costume designer Tracy Christensen, lighting designer Nancy Schertler, sound designer David Budries and musical director George Fulginiti-Shakar.
