Meryl Streep, Christopher Plummer, Kelsey Grammer and More Are Golden Globe Winners

"The Descendants," "The Artist," "Homeland" and "Modern Family" were among the big winners at the 69th annual Golden Globe Awards, which were presented Jan. 15 in Los Angeles and broadcast on NBC.

Top acting honors went to George Clooney ("The Descendants"), Meryl Streep ("The Iron Lady"), Michelle Williams ("My Week With Marilyn"), Jean DuJardin ("The Artist"), Claire Danes ("Homeland"), Kelsey Grammer ("Boss"), Laura Dern ("Enlightened"), Matt LeBlanc ("Episodes"), Kate Winslet ("Mildred Pierce") and Idris Elba (" Luther").

Ricky Gervais hosted the evening that included presenters Antonio Banderas (Nine), Nicole Kidman (The Blue Room), Freida Pinto, Salma Hayek, Melissa McCarthy, Clive Owen, Jake Gyllenhaal and Natalie Portman (The Diary of Anne Frank). Morgan Freeman received the Cecil B. DeMille award for Lifetime Achievement.

The Golden Globe Awards are administered by the Hollywood Foreign Press.
