The new production of Jekyll & Hyde is scheduled to begin its 25-city pre-Broadway tour this October in San Diego. Directed and choreographed by Tony nominee Jeff Calhoun (Newsies, Bonnie & Clyde), the Frank Wildhorn-Leslie Bricusse musical will play Houston Oct. 9-21. Jekyll & Hyde originated at Houston's Alley Theatre prior to its 1997 Broadway debut.
Also announced is Flashdance – The Musical, directed and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo (Next to Normal, Jersey Boys, Memphis), which will close the season June 4-16, 2013. The property incorporates hits from the film and new musical material. The Houston run will reflect the national tour of the musical, which will be a separate production from the Broadway engagement.
Additional productions include Cathy Rigby in Peter Pan (Dec. 11-23); Camelot (Jan. 22-Feb. 3, 2013); Man of La Mancha (Feb. 26-March 10, 2013); and Spamalot (May 14-26, 2013).
