Emma Hunton, Andy Mientus, Brian Charles Johnson, Chase Peacock Perform Fire Without Spark Concert Feb. 27

Emma Hunton, who currently stars as Maureen in Off-Broadway's Rent, and Andy Mientus, cast member of Off-Broadway's Carrie, sing the music of Bruce Springsteen in Fire Without A Spark Feb. 27 at Mercury Lounge.

The one-night-only concert, which includes new interpretations and classic arrangements of Springsteen favorites, begins at 8:30 PM and features Hunton and Mientes backed by a four-piece band. Zoe Sarnak is the musical director.

The band features Danny Taylor on drums, Rick Ippolito on bass, Eli Zoller on guitar and Sarnak on piano and guitar.  

Fire Without A Spark: Emma and Andy Cover Springsteen is produced by Rob Intile, Jr. and Ashley Mas. Zach Blane provides lighting design. 

Additionally, Brian Charles Johnson (Spring Awakening, American Idiot) and Chase Peacock (American Idiot) join Hunton and Mientus, opening the concert with their hip hop/R&B group Fran Sancisco. Fran Sancisco kicks off the evening at 7:30 PM. 

Band members for Fran Sancisco include Paul Schmitz on bass guitar, Ben Thompson on keyboard, Nathan Pauley on guitar and Gerard Canonico on drums.

Hunton, who began performances Jan. 13 as Maureen in Rent, has been seen on Broadway in Spring Awakening and Next to Normal. She also performed as Natalie in the first national tour of Next to Normal.

Mientus, who began performances Jan. 31 in Carrie, has also been seen on tour with Spring Awakening and, most recently, as Peter in a Manhattan industry reading of the pop opera bare.
